And a wealth of experience in wedding photography…
Getting married at your local church and having a marquee at your family home is a dream for so many, I was delighted to be asked to capture Zara and Martins fabulous wedding.
Bridal preparations started at the family farmhouse before the bride was escorted to the idyllic Holy Trinity Church, Hatton with the Dad in her grandfather’s vintage ford cortina mk5.
Grooms & Groomsmen arrived relaxed-looking fabulously in their Tweed Suits to greet the excited guests.
Take a look at the shot of the bride as she gets the first glimpse of your husband to be as she walked down the aisle, the joy and excitement on her face was just priceless.
We were surrounded by breath-taking views Dumbleton Hall the perfect location to create lasting memories.
The happy couple tied the knot with a traditional church service, St Peter’s Church, Dumbleton parish church at the end of a sweeping driveway of Dumbleton Hall Hotel, where they celebrated their wedding breakfast.
Here are just a few of my favourites or their special day.

Charlie Barrett’s 5-star review on Facebook
Julie and Darren were brilliant, they made everyone feel comfortable and at ease, and the photos are amazing. Thank you very much.
Sanina Kaur, Director of SK Copy Co, recently enlisted the expertise of Julie King Photography to update her business profile picture. Here she shares her first-hand account of the experience.
It’s not every day that I need my photo-taking professionally, so when I decided I needed a new head and shoulders shot for my business website, I was a bit stumped.
I needed to find a photographer that was a) good, b) reasonably priced and c) local to me.
Yes, I could refer to good old Google, but then I’d be presented with a list of photographers, who may look good on paper but may not necessarily be able to provide me with the professional shots I needed within my budget.
Fortunately for me, I didn’t have to refer to Google because I’d happened to meet Julie King at a recent local networking meeting.
I immediately knew from chatting to Julie that she had the experience I was looking for and, having taken a quick peek at her website, would also be able to take the shots that I had in mind too.
So, before I knew it, I’d booked myself in to have my new website photographs taken with Julie at her studio. I instantly knew I’d made the right decision, which was soon confirmed when I asked her if she had any advice about what type of outfit I should wear and she provided me with a really useful comprehensive list of guidance.
Read my mind
On the day of the shoot, everything ran like clockwork. Not only did Julie put me at ease (as I did feel a bit like a duck out of water against the backdrop of the lights and equipment), she instantly knew how to recreate what I had in my mind, on camera. In fact, it was almost as though she could read my mind.
And the results were stunning. My photographs look professional, but not too formal and reflect my creativity, personality and also have the wow factor too. Take a look at some of them for yourself, I couldn’t be any happier with them:

It was a beautiful autumn day at the delightful Grafton Manor Hotell in Bromsgrove for John and Eve’s Wedding, its the perfect setting, if you’re after more than just a civil wedding as the hotel has its own little chapel.
September is a great choice for your big day; it’s the one wedding month that truly stands out from the rest. It’s a great time for a wedding as the days are still long and the weather pleasant without being too hot during your drinks reception and photos.
Sunsets at this time of year are incredible and the natural light is perfect for your photographs.
Isn’t it lovely when you get a handwritten letter especially when it’s saying “Thank you”?
This is one of the reasons I love my job and have loved photographing wedding since Julie King Photography was established in 1993.

“Julie was a pleasure to work with, her friendly approachable personality along with her enthusiasm, we had every faith that she would be perfect for our day. Julie captured all the emotions, laughter and love perfectly and was so unobtrusive almost as though she wasn’t there. We were absolutely blown away with the results again despite the British weather. We love our wedding album and how it captured the essence of our perfect day and her photography will tell our story for evermore!”
Thanks again Julie King Photography

Our wedding day was everything – one of the best days of my life! It went by in the blink of an eye but every moment captured beautifully by Julie King Photography and Merlin Film Productions. We decided on a winter/Christmas wedding as we have children and we all love that time of year, so we went to work with a colour palette of gold and aubergine to set the tone for our December wedding. We brought the gold in with sequinned table runners, my chief bridesmaids stunning dress and gold ruffles on our chairs. The aubergine just added a wintery warm feel to our day being used in our beautifully arranged flowers and mainly in my bouquet as one of my favourite flowers is the aubergine canna lily this amazing flower was also used as the grooms buttonhole and to dress my ruffle tie backed chairs.
So much heart and soul went into planning our wedding. We wanted it to be personal, soft and elegant and picture perfect. All of which I believe we accomplished well.
Planning was not stressed free by any means! But I enjoyed every minute of it and was proud of what we had achieved even down to my ‘little bag of happiness’ favours that I lovingly put together for the ladies along with the children’s bags too. My favourite part of planning our BIG day had to be the venue, Blakelands Country House. Blakelands is a beautiful venue, we immediately fell in love from our first visit, we didn’t need to see any further venues…our minds were made up! Paul, Heather and their team provide outstanding service and are more than happy to help with anything no matter how big or small. All staff were helpful and professional and made our day the best day possible despite the gale force winds!
